Public worship will be permissible from Sunday December 6th, but we are still awaiting specific guidance from the House of Bishops. So we assume that the Parish Mass will be said in church on Sunday 6 December (Advent 2) at 10am. If there is any change we will parishioners and friends directly. Hopefully by the weekend we will also have received clearer guidance on what will be possible over the Christmas period.
Christmas Cards: Given the uncertainty of services and necessary precautions around COVID transmission, please do not leave Christmas cards in church for members of the congregation this year. The box will not be available and cards shouldn't be left on surfaces for collection - sorry!
Planned Giving for 2021: Envelopes for 2021 have not been ordered following the switch by many former envelope users to standing order payments direct to the PCC’s bank account. There may be about half a dozen people who may want to continue using envelopes for their giving, when that becomes feasible again. Owing to the pandemic, offertory collections have not been held, so if this includes you, you will have 9 months of 2020 envelopes. Please use them next year. It will be very helpful indeed, if at least for the last quarter of 2021, you can provide your own envelope for your giving with your envelope number written on it. If you would prefer to switch to a standing order or wish to find out more, please contact David Thomsit at davidthomsit.co.uk or 01727 867108. Many thanks to all of you for your support.
Private Prayer: The churchwardens have arranged for the church to be open again for private prayer - Sundays 11am-1pm and Wednesdays 10am-12noon. Face coverings must be worn, so please make sure you come equipped!
The CTM Advent Service has been created online and is scheduled on YouTube for viewing from 6pm on Sunday 29 November. Search in YouTube for St Saviour's Church, St Albans or click on the link here: Details will also be shared by St Saviour's on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, with a direct link provided. Many thanks to all from our various churches who contributed readings, and to St Saviour's Virtual Choir for their hard work!
The Liturgy of the Mass: The last of this series takes place on Wednesday 2nd December. 8pm - 9.30pm on Zoom. To register and receive Zoom login details contact Fr Richard on email@example.com.
St Mary’s Church Alternative Christmas Fair: St Mary’s Marshalswick are offering a ‘reimagined’ Christmas Fair this year.
